Mark Bishop (one of Maryn’s Managing Directors), along with Vern Hyde and Ken Wallace and their wives are riding their bicycles across Canada to raise money for the community of Gindo, Ethiopia. The mission is to build a school, improve the community’s water supply, and teach skills to local adults. This “CHAIN REACTION” will ultimately transform this challenged community into something wonderful.
What started out as a dream of "one" has now become a dream of three. The "I" has now become "WE" - Vern Hyde, Ken Wallace and Mark Bishop. Three businessmen in their 50's who have been given so much in life, who want to give something back. Three friends who want to make a difference in the lives of many orphaned and vulnerable children in Ethiopia. These children have very little and need hope for a bright future. There are currently programs in place and running which provide basic necessities and education for these young children. The children in the program are thriving. The big problem is that there are no quality facilities to house the programs! The charitable organizations running these programs in Ethiopia are Canadian Humanitarian, and its US affiliate organization Kids Hope Ethiopia.
That's where the "WE" comes in...ALL of us...as many as possible.
